When I have no one to talk to, my pages are always listening.
Beamer creates work to ignite a strong, visceral reaction in the audience to inspire their dormant voices, and/or to have them leaving, questioning humanity. She shines a different light on unjust social experiences many ignore or deem the norm while deconstructing social constructs. Being a proud multifaceted being, she celebrates & encourages others to openly celebrate ALL of their “authentic mes", without discouragement from another's limitations casted upon them.
Through Poetry I tell yummy, challenging, visceral stories to break generational curses and take humans on a rollercoaster ride of their own conscience. You are hesitant, disarmed, exhilarated, frightened, resentful, educated, contemplative, curious, uncomfortable, humored, inspired, and pissed.What I’m About
Beamer looks to catch those in their formative years and reach ANYONE who is not cemented in their ways. Yet, even concrete can be busted through... My work is also for those who understand what it means to be truly alone with others around you and to lose yourself in the masses… apply pressure on those M-fers. You have a Freak-Flag, bet! Wave that joint! Shine! Dim your light for no one, including yourself. DO NOT assimilate! The depths of the few, is richer than the count of the many. The world has subconsciously carved, infected, and poisoned humanity. I use my work as venom, to fight off the continual perpetrators and as an anecdote to heal us all.

My mamma says, “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can kill your spirit.” You thought I was going to say something else, didn’t you?- “Words can never hurt me.” Words can never hurt me…What a stupendous lie that is. Truly it’s impressive, from our impressionable youth we are taught not to take responsibility for our speech. And if a person is hurt and speaks up against our words, they are labeled cry-baby, weak, difficult, confrontational, a problem… see more words. Instead of taking ownership of our words, we weaponize them. Too uncomfortable to deal with our offenses we deflect and shame.]
Like me, this multifaceted piece brings in elements of melodrama and humor. As in life, nothing is only one thing. I walk you through the power of words and the lasting impacts speech and one's actions leave on an individual. How the action of not speaking or having the insight of knowing when not to, makes all the difference in the world. I shine a different light on unjust social experiences many ignore or deem the norm while deconstructing classroom enviornments, Army life, villains, even Winnie the Pooh. As I relive this journey infront of an audience, they are introduced to the many tessera pieces that have constructed the being they see before them. Maybe, even some of the pieces of themselves…
